Draft of Aphrodesia, simple.
I was hoping that this chocolate elixir would get me high. Hot, like too much Damiana underneath the tongue. Lacquered yet steaming. Naughty like Rococo, twisted and pink.
To me, these things are medicinal and should be taken with a prayer to your spirit guides or to Aphrodite herself. I chose the latter. I like to think that she spoke back.
Decadent Rose-Orange-Chocolate elixir for maintaining a full heart:
Makes 2 servings.
•2 cups milk of choice (I used goat milk)
•1/2 or a little more of a chocolate orange or any chocolate orange bar.
•Rose powder (I freshly ground rose petals with a mortar and pestle and used quite a bit. You can also use culinary rose water for this step.)
•The zest of one orange, or in my case, two satsumas.
•1 tbsp of cacao powder
Boil your milk on the stove and slowly add all of these ingredients to your liking. Stirring frequently. Taste as you go. I recommend using a whisk when adding the rose powder, as it may clump. Let simmer for a few minutes. However long it takes to get lost in a song or a gentle sway. Pour into cups, add just a hint of juice from your orange before serving. Garnish with zest. Remember to sip with intention. Fall in love.
